2020 Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord | Hutchinson, KS

Two of the most popular sedans in the United States are the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. While these models are both known for their reliability, there are a few key details that give the Camry an edge over the Accord.

Standard Features

When you buy a new car in 2020, you expect certain features to come standard. The 2020 Toyota Camry meets these expectations with a standard 7-inch touch screen that includes Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, Wi-Fi capabilities, and the Toyota+Alexa app. To get these features on the Honda Accord, you would have to pay more to get a higher trim level. The Alexa app is not even an option in the Accord.

Engine Power

Both the Camry and Accord have two engines to choose from. The Toyota Camry comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. This engine gives you more power than the standard engine of the Accord, which is a 192-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder.

You also get more power from the optional engine on the Camry. It is a 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Compare that to the Accord's optional engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with only 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel Efficiency

With equipped with the standard engines, the Camry returns better combined fuel efficiency than the Accord. The Camry gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined, while the Accord returns an EPA-estimated 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined.*

All-Wheel Drive

When you're driving a sedan, it's nice to have the added traction you get from having all-wheel drive. This spring, the Toyota Camry will be available with all-wheel drive for the first time, which will be a great benefit for Kansas winters. All-wheel drive is still unavailable on the Accord.
